Getbackers

The Getbackers is a great anime, it may be really old, in fact it was one of the first I have ever seen but  let me tell you it is just amazing! An action packed anime with a great story, full of suspense and a few great jokes- all these aspects are balanced so well that you have a hard time not liking this anime. It will plunge you into a world full of senselessness that turns out to make sense-  just watch it!

The GetBackers refers to a group of two, 'Ginji' and "Ban', both with very deep and dark pasts. But they have put everything behind them and now run a professional recovery service, they recover lost or stolen items for a fee. These two are the most crazy, strong and amazing characters I may have ever come across. As the series continues, aspects from their past catch up to them and they have experiences and go through events that they believe would never happen. Ginji who can conduct and control electricity used to be the leader of a gang called the volts and had many loyal subordinates who are shown during the series. He rules an abandoned and extremely dangerous area called the Limitless Fortress- but he mysteriously leaves and meets Ban. Ban was constantly traveling, he has crazy powers and has something called a Jagon eye- he can manipulate an enemy's mind for a minute using it. They have friends and enemies who all play important roles at some point. I will not say more, there are many more things I can tell you but its better to just go and see it!

Ill come to the drawbacks, the series tries to be realistic, but with powers like Jagon and controlling electricity it becomes hard. Also this is one of those irritating series where almost each and every episode ends in such a way you will be dieing to know whats going to happen next episode- it's just a bit annoying.
I give the anime a 9 1/2. Its great entertainment.

Sergeant Keroro

A fairly childish anime that is a really good way to pass the time. I enjoy watching this anime but not as much as my other favorites- basically its not exactly at the top of my list. Sergeant Keroro is funny, creative and something that will make you kick back and relax. It has a fairly decent story line so watch it to decide if you like it.

the plot is about this group of aliens that are tiny, look like frogs, act like frogs, think their 'evil' and are really, really advanced in the technology field. The aliens are a group of five with their leader called Keroro. They are trying to capture and conquer planet Earth but are miserably failing. The sad thing is that they are capable of doing so but simply don't want to- they get too attached to humans, especially the HInata family, whose house they stay at. the series starts with them landing on Earth, separating and making many human friends. to find out how their attempts to capture the planet go and what happens, watch the anime.

Here are the drawbacks, the plot can sometimes get stupid. the aliens think they are so 'bad ass' that sometimes the anime gets a bit too childish.


I give this anime a 5 1/2, its a good past time.

Fairy Tail

It's countless awards and millions of views speak for itself, Fairy Tail is one hell of an anime. Combine magic,action, wacky senseless humor, amazing story lines and great animation and your looking at Fairy Tail. This anime just makes you want to ask for more, it covers all aspects of a great anime. What I love about this anime is that it perfectly manages the stories and features of all its characters in a great way.

The story line concentrates on a magic guild called Fairy Tail in the magical land of Fiore, where obviously magic has become a part of the peoples daily life. Guilds are of different types with different names and different features. mages (magic users) join guilds for a living and follow out requests from common people. like help find something that is lost, protect someone, kill a bad guy, etc. all for prices. Fairy tail is famous for its powerful and great magicians, mainly Natsu, Grey, Lucy, Erza and many many more- all with a common property of causing destruction and mayhem. There are many strong and weak magicians to get to know, amazing stories and plots, suspense, crazy, funny scenes and a lot more to add to the list. So just go watch it.

Time for the drawbacks, like many anime this too can get slightly childish, English dubbing is not exactly perfect and it can be glitchy in a few places.

I give this anime a 10/10. It has all qualities of a great anime, including imperfection. I just can't help but give it a full score.

High School Of The Dead

High School Of The Dead (HOTD) is the best zombie apocalypse series I have seen. It balances an amazing plot, horror, suspense, action and even comedy. I would not call it hentai but let's just say that kids below the age of thirteen should not watch it. (even though it is originally supposed to be 18+.) I love the twist's and turns in the story, which is why you will always want to know what happens next.

I won't go into too many details, so here's the general outlook of the story line. It's a normal day in high school for 'Takashi' and his friends, same old boring life. When suddenly all hell rains down on them when they realize that all their teachers and friends are bitten by a zombie and are also turning into zombies. Takashi, along with a group of 5 soon escape the building and look for their loved ones outside. But there is almost no hope, the zombies are everywhere and growing in number fast. All countries are in turmoil and the authorities have no idea what to do. So watch the anime to find out how they survive and what do they do next.

Here are the drawbacks, if you don't like gruesome violent scenes then you definitely wont like the anime. And also it can traumatize kids . but otherwise it's great to watch.

I give it a 8 1/2

Negima!?

A good anime, that has the potential to get you addicted to it. This anime is a typical magic anime, displaying comedy, childishness and a decent plot. Negima is great to watch for anyone below the age of 18 and a few above. What I like is that this anime actually steps out of the Japanese world in some places and is out the box in different ways.

The main character of the story is Negi Magi, the son of the legendary  'Thousand Master', who was one of the greatest magicians, but mysteriously vanished leaving negi and his sister behind. Negi aspires to become just like him and at the age of 11 becomes a great magic user. He is then asked to teach in a girls academy, where he makes many friends- one of them an old enemy of his father who tries to kill him, though. he has to choose apprentices to boost his magic, by the process of kissing a person. in the course of the anime, most of negi's students gain magical powers through this process. there are many great plots that follow- you should watch the anime to find out......

here are the drawbacks, the anime can get too kiddish at times, Useless things can be concentrated on in some of the episodes and it need a better english dub.

i give Negima!? a 7/10. 

Letter Bee

From the creators of Bleach and Naruto, I did not expect anything but awesomeness from this anime. I was quite impressed, mostly because under all the innocence and slight childishness there is an amazing story that is full of mystery and suspense. This anime puts me at peace and allows me to completely relax and let all my problems go. The explanations are clear, characters are great, plot is good and music is more than nice- basically a great anime.

the story revolves around a boy named 'Lag' who lives in a world where it is very difficult to travel to different places and people can only communicate from town to town through letters that are mostly delivered by specially trained people called letter bee's ( and yes phones have not been invented). These people are trained to tackle difficulties along the way like defeating monsters who dwell outside populated areas called 'Gaichus' using a type of weapon called 'shindan' and 'spirit amber'. Lag has been seperated from his mother as a child and is treated like a letter, to be sent to his aunts house. the Bee who is to deliver him is 'Gauche' (Gaw-shoe)
who is working realy hard to become the head bee and help his crippled sister. As Lag grows up he aspired to be just like Gauche and becomes a letter bee but soon realizes that gauche has dissapeared since the last four years. Lag need to find him. so the anime tells us about the government conspiracies, Lags new friends, Lags dingo (partner in delivering letters), what happens to Gauche and how does it all end....

All anime have drawbacks. here they are, Lag cries just too much- i get its his character, but it gets annoying, sometimes there is too much concentration on useless events not related to the story.
On the whole i still admire and enjoy the anime i give it a 9/10

Bleach Movie 4: Hell Chapter

The long awaited fourth bleach movie finally surfaces on the internet. I have loved all bleach movies and this one too. The animators have gone slightly out of the box and havent stuck to the usual forms Ichigo has, basically I mean they have not restricted him to his hollow or bankai form. the movie is definitely exciting and not at all  dull. They have done a great job designing hell, it still amazes me. this story will grip you and make you want to find out what happens next.

The story is about these sinners from hell who want to escape- obviously, but they cannot as here are chains binding them to hell that are virtually impossible to break unless extreme power is used, which they do not have. But they believe that Ichigo's full hollow form can break these chains with its cero.Also they need to destroy hell's gate that has trapped them. So they kidnap Ichigo's sister and force him to comply with their demands. There is a mysterious character who comes in here and offers to help ichigo, who is also a sinner from hell but wants redemption. He claims to see a similarity between himself and ichigo as he to looses his sister. But this person was put in hell for a reason- could he be trusted or is he really a good person, watch and find out. So Ichigo, along with Uryu, Rukia, Renji and the sinner plunge into hell recklessly and the story goes on. this leaves the questions, will ichigo save his sister before its too late? does he loose any of his friends? are the sinners freed? who really is the mysterious sinner who is trying to help them? you know what to do for these answers!

Now for the drawbacks, I was fairly dissapointed due to the lack of captain action and involvement. Also the story can have a few small, glitches here and there or unexplained scenes.

overall, I was quite impressed as i always am when it comes to Bleach. I give it a 8/10.

07- Ghost

A breathtaking mix of action, comedy, suspense and human beliefs at certain levels. This anime is sure to impress you and make you watch it.The anime shows the true meaning of friendship and sacrifice in a dramatic and amazing way.The story is brilliant, the animation is good, the characters are depicted perfectly and frankly it'll leave you craving for more.....

There are two powerful artifacts in the anime, they are the basis of the story. the eye of Michel, and the eye of Raphael. they posses a lot of power. there is a war between two powerful kingdoms due to their power and in the midst of it all the eye of Michel is lost, nobody knows where it is but a few. 'Taito' is a boy, the eye resides within his body and has accepted him as its master. Taito has a tragic past and never had friends except for Mikage who becomes his only friend. After a certain incident Taito ends up in a church full of bishops with magical powers, and looses fragments of his memory. i wont go into details but in the end mikage dies for Taito and he swears revenge over Ayagami a general in the imperial army who used to be his masters. There are various incidents; how Taito makes a new friend, looses the eye to ayagami, he tries to grow strong on his own and a lot more. Does he trust the bishps at the church?, will he get revenge? watch to find out. He also learns about the 7 ghosts who are said to be types of gods sent so protect a certain object on earth. So who are the 7 ghosts and how do they enter the story.....................

Time for the drawbacks, id say the repeated times Taito falls into trouble gets annoying, and also the fact that the word 'love is tossed around a lot during the anime. Ya I know some drawbacks huh? well its hard finding them, the animators have done a really good job!

i give it a 9 1/2 . I love this anime

Spooky Kitaro

A ghost fable. Spooky Kitaro is more or less for kid's, I for one never enjoyed the plots or liked the characters. The animation goes from bad to good as seasons go by. For those of you who like senseless, slightly humorous and cartoony anime, I guess you'll like this anime.

the story is about Kitaro who is, well a ghost- but nowhere near spooky. He likes humans and unlike most other supernatural creatures wants to help them. He has a band of loyal friends who help him on the way. most Ghosts have been taken from traditional Japanese culture and superstitions. Basically humans having troubles due to supernatural incidents leave a letter in his mail box, in a forest (no puns intended) and he tries to help them out. It's all about how he grows stronger and gets better at his job.

The anime has a load of drawbacks though, every episode follows almost the same pattern: kitaro gets into trouble somehow and his friends get worried and then they help him out. the plots sometimes don't make sense. some characters are ridiculously stupid and had very bad dubbing.

I rate the anime a 4/10. I admit not one of my favorites.

xxx Holic

the most spiritual anime I've seen. xxx holic made me believe in fate. It's a great combination of humor, mystery- a lot of mystery, different beliefs, superstition and a tinge of horror. Literally every part of every episode had a deep or hidden meaning that can be revealed during the same episode or even at the end of the season. This anime will really teach you that there are no coincidences.

This anime is kind of special, its bears a very close link to another anime called, 'Tsubasa Chronicles' or 'Chronicles Of The Wings' and is very slightly linked to 'Card Captor Sakura'. And the three story lines merge in such a way it'll blow your mind!

The story line is mainly about this boy 'Watanuki' who was born with a strong spirit and can see ghosts. Unfortunately his parents die when he's young, and he grows up living alone in an apartment, generally getting help from his neighbors. Due to this he is a very responsible person- with a great talent in cooking. one day he meets 'Yuko', a witch who run's a shop that grants wishes to people who deny their fate. She see's his abilities and starts to prepare him for a greater task that the future hold for him. He likes a girl, who apparently has a bad spirit, but is good in person. He also had a friend with a bloodline of exorcists and priests. These two play an important role in the story. Every event that takes place in the anime, the people he meets, his involvement with Yuko's customers, the spirits he talk's to all prepare him for the future, which he is clueless about. So what his future hold? how do his two friends make a difference? what happens to him in the middle of all this? What exactly does Yuko have in store for him? watch the anime and find out!

the drawbacks are simply that you need to pay attention to everything that's happening in the anime and try not to miss any episodes to completely understand everything, don't get me wrong, its all easy to understand, just it takes time.

i give the anime a 9/10. it may just change your belief's.

Bleach

Bleach is an anime that I'm sure requires no introduction, in fact it must be the most viewed anime other than Naruto. I hope bleach never ends- it just crossed 330 episodes and should go on till one cant count anymore! All aspects of bleach just thrill me- the animation, the characters, the cool moves, attacks and weapons, the crazy story lines and even the occasional comedy.

The story revolves  around this guy 'Ichigo', a brave and determined highschooler who just want to be able to protect his friends. One day a type of monster called 'Hollow' attacked his sisters who like him are spiritually powerful. he meets 'Rukia' and soul reaper or shinigami who's duty is to maintain peace in the world of the living and even the 'Soul Society' - which is the alternating dimension where souls are sent after ones death. the hollow over powers her and she is forces to do something banned in soul society by law- transfer some of her powers to Ichigo so he can save his family. In the process he becomes a powerful soul reaper and his story as a shinigami begins. Also he realizes that his friends have quite some spiritual capabilities too. slowly he earns the trust of the 13 captains and their lieutenants who form the 13 court guard squad of soul society leaded by the commander general 'Genriosai'. then he turns out to grow into one of the strongest people alive, the story about how he increases his power and how he uses them is shown perfectly throughout all episodes.

Well, no anime can cross 300 episodes and not have a few flaws. Bleach can sometimes have pathetic fillers where they focus too much on un- important characters. Also certain story lines may drag a bit.

I give the anime a 9 1/2 on 10 almost perfect.

Slam Dunk

An epic and comic combination of sports, humor and one messed up love circle. As you can tell by the name this anime's mainly about basketball. It's one of the first few anime i have seen and will never waste your time,in fact  you will always want to watch more. If this anime fails to make you laugh your gut's out at least one every episode then your not human!

The story line is about this guy 'Hanamichi' who is an extremely tall, strong but thin and goofy person with orange hair- i know, imagine meeting a person fitting this description in reality right? he's an ordinary high school student who is pathetic at studies. He takes a liking to this girl 'Haruko' who is the younger sister of the school basketball teams captain 'Takinori'. In the midst of trying to impress her he challenges her brother to a one on one basketball match. Being an armature at playing basketball he makes a fool of himself- but while getting a hang of the game somehow manages to get the upper hand agents Takinori once - might i add, after breaking several basketball rules. Everybody see's talent in him and later he decides to join the team and get better. But he's over-over confidant and extremely thick. He gets into disputes with fellow team mates and even spoils games but as time passes he gets better and better. The story is also mainly about his team mates and each of their dreams to win the championships. The animators have done an amazing job merging spots and comic scenes. But in the end Hanamichi's unpredictable actions leave us clueless about what can happen next.......

Drawbacks of this anime are...... well, some episodes may stretch on useless things, sometimes basketball matches may get a bit unreal, but otherwise the animators have covered everything.

I give this anime a 8/10, not too much not too less.

Detective School Q

This is my favorite anime of all time. I absolutely love it, I used to watch it as a kid and still love to watch it. i just wish they made more seasons for this anime. It's basically the best thriller, comic, heart gripping and absolutely the best detective series out there. Its also known as 'Dan Detective School' or 'Detective Academy Q'. It's a must view and amazing experience.

It's about this boy named Que who is extremely smart and talented, though young. He has a dream of turning into a great detective- which he gets from his mentor, the detective that saved him when he was kidnapped as a child- he turns out to be much more than a mentor later, but you need to watch the anime to understand that. Fate plays a hand by helping him achieve his dream, he meets young Magumi who has a photographic memory and Kinta a strong high school-er and learns about an academy called Dan Detective School that recruits, trains and takes the help of young adults with abilities of becoming great detectives, they are respected even by the police. After getting involved in a tragedy where a man is killed and effectively solving the case he is given the offer to join the school. On his journey he meets more important friends like Kazuma a computer genius and Riu someone just like Que. They together form class Q of the school and are admired by their principal- detective Dan. So it's all about how each of them strive to become better at their jobs. the various plots, murder's, way's of revealing them and presentation will blow your mind. towards the end the bond between Que and Riu is stressed on, but before that we are left with the question who is Riu in reality and what are his intentions?

If I have to find any disadvantages of this anime it would be that they did not make enough episodes! being a typical detective series fan I cant find any flaws here. but from the point of view of a person who does not love these type of series, it could get a bit dull with all the explanations for the different murders and plots but otherwise it will change your mind and make you love it.

I give it a 10/10. a perfect score for a perfect anime. If you wish to catch the entire series I recommend-

Hayate The Combat Butler

This is one of the most random, funny, slightly pervish and crazy anime's out there. if your bored or even depressed this anime will do the trick and cheer you up- that or your stomach will pain due to laughing so much! the anime will plunge you in a world of senseless laughter and you will always want to watch the next show.  its got 2seasons, the first one slightly better than the second. but overall, i love this anime and it's one of my favorite one's of all time. not only is the animation quality great but it also has amazing theme's, dialogues, etc.

The story line is quite simple, its about a boy named Hayate who is around 15 years old and has been abandoned by his parents, who conveniently left him with a debt of 156,804,000 yen on his head that's right about a hundred and fifty million, which keeps adding up . And to top things off they gave him a very "wonderful' childhood. he is desperate for money and works very hard to earn it, but the people who he owes money to are pressurizing him to pay fast. so he decides so kidnap a rich. spoilt girl named Nagi Sanzanin but ends up saving her from real kidnappers! so typically she falls in love with him but he treats her like a kid - which she is. he is offered a job as the family butler, which is a very difficult job because he has to help with the housework, save Nagi from all possible dangers, protect the family name and try to live a normal life at the same time - the latter does not work out so well though. in the end he strives to become a great butler, faces the competition of other family butlers and merges with Nagi's friend circle. but above all this anime is about the butler, mistress bond formed between them. As the story continues we learn secrets of his past which catch up to the present and rage havoc and we keep guessing about his future........

Then again this anime has draw backs like the seldom poor jokes, the lack of consistency to the story line, the number of love circles which can cause many comic scenes but still get annoying and you sometimes feel sorry for Hayate and his bad luck :p.

I give this anime a 9/10,  its worth it.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

If you like epic, completely non-cliche and mind blowing story lines then this is the anime for you.
this anime should be given an award for having an amazing story line. if you have seen the old version
of Full Metal Alchemist (not many have) you will find that, the animators have made huge improvements in the
quality of animation, dubbing, story and character's

this anime is basically about two brothers Edward (Ed) and Alphonse (Al) Erik. they live in an age where alchemy is a common talent- here alchemy is a form of conversion of equivalent exchange eg. alchemist's can convert one thing of equal value to another thing of equal value like an eye for an eye...well only with different objects. some can call it magic, it's not. the science behind the alchamy has been explained in an amazing way,
i have got to compliment the creators for that! back to the story these brothers loose their mom when they were kids while they are still learning alchamy and end up trying to bring her back using it, but their exchange was unequal as they sacrifice two drops of their blood each with a bunch of stuff of their mom - i know real smart right? and as a punishment for doing so one of Ed's hand and leg were taken away while Al looses his entire body- but his soul is forced into a suit of armor by Ed, again using alchamy. so basically this story is all about how they try to get their body/body parts back and the twists, turns and problems they face during their journey. not to mention the government conspiracies and important people and friends they meet. but their journey leads them to find out something much worse.................

so out of ten I give this anime a 8 1/2. this may be a great anime but it has its own problems like: if you miss at least 3 episodes in a row you will be completely lost with the story and you will have missed a lot of action and excitement.

im just like most of you guys who absolutely love anime, in fact i cant get enough of it.
each anime is unique in it own way - we have an anime for literally every type of person!
i admire all animators, the effort required to create even just an episode is huge let alone seasons,
don't you sometimes feel anime has not been given as much preference as it should be given? well
i hope we can change that some day.
