Naruto

One of the most famous anime to ever be aired. Even people who don't usually watch anime have heard of Naruto from somewhere or the other. But I can say without any hesitation that Naruto has earned the popularity with its amazing plot which is full of deep mystery, heart gripping action, unexpected twists and not to mention the comic factor that forces you to roll over in a fit of laughter.

I doubt there is anybody who needs to know the basic story line, but I'll still go over it briefly. Naruto is a boy ninja from a village called the Hidden Leaf Village which is full of both commoners who live peaceful lives and other Ninja who protect the village. A strong spiritual beast called the nine tails fox was sealed inside him when he was just a baby causing him to have a sad and mostly lonely childhood. He dreams of someday becoming the greatest Ninja and to be Hokage (village head). In the series you see him grow up (if you were an early watcher you also grew up with him) and actually begin to understand him. His undieing will and resolution to protect those close to him as he grows older causes him to grow stronger and stronger and face even more enemies. Sasuke and Sakura are his best friends who have major roles in the plot, especially Sasuke who has a shady past. This unique setup has much to offer to all its viewers, with a lot of secrets and mind blowing events that you can only know about if you watch the series.

The drawbacks are excessive childish jokes and useless fillers along with over stretching of unimportant events that can be irritating.

I give Naruto a 9 1/2. You would be missing out on something great if you don't watch this.
- I would recommend 'www.narutospot.net' to watch the series.

K-On!

An outstanding musical anime that can rock your soul. This anime has become extremely famous since its release. K-On might be appreciated my girls more than guys but the animation is great, the story is simple yet nice, the songs are addictive, the characters are well developed and it's also quite funny. Basically it's really fun to watch, and it does not have many faults either.

The story is about these five girls called 'Yui, Ritsu, Tsumughi, Mio and (later on) Azusa', who create a light music club to play their favorite instruments and make new friends. So you would assume that most episodes are about how hard they work to become better. While in fact four out of five episodes will be about them wasting time and being lazy or doing some other work. Still somehow they manage to work everything out in the end and come up with  crazy songs, which are good to listen to even if you don't understand the language. So does the light music club expand and become famous? what kind of help do the girls get? what exactly do they do with all their free time? watch to find out!

The drawback is mainly about how there are some filler episodes which can be quite boring. Luckily these episodes are a small in number though.

I give this anime a 7/10. Really entertaining.

Nura: Rise Of The Yokai Clan- Demon Capital

I usually don't review the second or third seasons of the anime that I've done before, but this anime stands out and deserves it. There has been a drastic change in the story, thankfully for the better. This season we dive deeper into Rikuo's past which is much more mysterious than you can imagine. This is a must watch anime and it gives you those thrills that great scenes give you at almost every point of the anime. I'll just say, the first season was great, and this one is even greater.

I'll just mention the changes in the story and if you want to know everything else you can scroll down and read my previous post of season one of this anime. Like it was mentioned before, we find out more about the dark past of Rikuo's family and the true secrets of the Nura clan and all the previous Nuraherion's. A new threat has emerged called 'Hagoro Gitsume'- a fox demon who is said to be immortal. She holds a baby called Nue who is said to be the living embodiment of evil. She resides in Kyoto (Demon Capital) where all the demons are much stronger. Now Rikuo must become much stronger to face his new enemy, as he finds out how she has had an impact on his family's past. Also for the first time ever, Yokai and Omiyoji (exorcists) work together to bring piece to the land. The action, comedy and amazing twists and turns in the story line will leave you speechless. There's no doubt that his is an amazing anime; and whats better is that there's going to be a third season!

It's really hard to find drawbacks here. But the biggest problem I find with the anime is that it's too short. When it comes to a really good anime, you want it to go on for longer- Then again I cant complain because there's going to be a third season. Another drawback would be that some of the last few episodes have dodgy battle sequences almost like they had to cut it short.

I give the anime a 9 1/2. It's a great piece of work.

Alice Academy

A great anime with a really fascinating story line. Its one of those stories that presses upon the strong bonds of friendship and about doing the right things, etc. Its a amazing way to pass the time and once you start watching you wont want to stop. You get to know all the characters really well and yourself form emotional bonds with them. Basically it's a funny, touching and entertaining anime.

The story line revolves around this girl, 'Mikan Sakura' who lives with her grandfather but one day finds out that she has superpowers. she is then recruited by a secret Academy called Alice Academy, where her best friend 'Hotaru' currently is, which is full of people with different powers. At first nobody knows what her powers are including herself but soon they find out and its a really rare one- I wont spoil the surprise. Most of the anime is about how she works hard and adapts to this new atmosphere around her and how she makes new friends, gets to know her teachers, and influences others. But the main story starts when she becomes attached to this guy called 'Hyuga' who controls fire. She soon stumbles upon a secret that changes everything for her and could seriously affect the Academy. She decides to fight for whats right and help her friends before something really bad happens. Who are her new friends? what's this secret? what does she do to make everything right? watch the anime to find out!

The drawbacks start with how late the actual story kicks in, and how fast it ends. Also; as usual some of the jokes or events can be really childish which can come to be a pain.

I give the anime a 7 1/2. Its quite old, and like all old anime it's great.

Flame Of Recca

A cliche story which is rather dull but not completely boring. This anime is not really that great but it can pass as something to watch in your free time. In fact the only parts of the anime that are actually interesting are some of the fighting scenes and the various weapons or attacks. The proverb 'Damsel In Distress' had shown its true meaning in this anime, as the reason for almost all developments in the story is a girl being kidnapped.

The story is about 'Recca' who wants to be a ninja and pledges his service to a girl called 'Yanagi'  who has the ability to heal wounds. Soon Recca finds out that he is a member of an ancient ninja clan and that he can control flames ans use them to fight in the form of dragons. Each of his dragons represented a particular power. The Ninja clan was called the Hokage and its members used special weapons called psychic weapons with different abilities. So the story has the most common plot, in which rich and greedy men try to kidnap Yanagi to use her powers and collect the psychic weapons to grow stronger. Recca and his friends do their best to make sure that peace prevails and that the bad guys don't win, and they do so by challenging them in fighting competitions, etc. So if you like great fighting sequences and slightly dull story lines you can watch this anime.

The drawbacks as I stated before are the uninspiring plot, the old and slightly poor animation and the frequent poor jokes along with the stretched episodes.

I give it a 6/10. Its not a bad pass time.

Nura: Rise Of The Yokai Clan

Nura: Rise Of The Yokai Clan or 'Nurahirion No Mago' has the potential to be an amazing anime with its great story line and great direction. Everything about this anime is really good, right down to its opening songs to characters and dialogue to everything else. Its extremely interesting as well as fun to watch. Its one of those anime which always leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

The plot is quite simple, 'Rikuo Nura' is the next heir to the great Nura clan of demons. There are various demon clans, which are hidden from normal humans. However Nura is half demon and half human who has a sense of justice and he does not wish to become the next head of the Nura clan, well at least his human form does not. His Demon form which can only come out when the sun is down, is extremely powerful and wishes to rule the Nura clan in the future. Rikuo loves his human friends as well as his demon ones and aspires to become strong enough to protect both of them, even though he wanted nothing to do with any of it at the beginning of the series. So briefly its all about how he earns the trust of all the other demons and help his friends without letting them find out about demons, even though one of them has a crush on his demon form while the other is an exosist. But don't miss this series because it is great to watch and has amazing action along with a few laughs here and there.

The drawbacks are that the fillers can be boring, and in the anime Rikuo can only fight at night with his demon form which can be irritating at times, also some episodes are really cliche but still nice to watch.

I give the anime a 8 1/2. It's something you always want to watch.

Inu Yasha

The most epic anime with a story line that just attaches itself to your life. It feels like its a part of you at the end of the series which is ,'Inu Yasha Final Act'. You get to know all about each character like you just became friends with them, the animators have done a great job doing that. If I was ever given a chance to own a deadly weapon I always imagine Inu Yasha's sword (the Tetsusaiga). The battles in the anime, the story, the music, the comedy, the direction, its all really great; leading to an amazing experience.

I wont go into every detail of the story but it's generally about Inu Yasha who is a half demon and aspires to become a full demon, he has a tragic past and is often haunted by it. Then there is Kagome who was an ordinary high school girl who fell into a magic well in her family shrine and landed in the demon world where Inu Yasha is. There is a relic called the Shikon jewl which has a great amount of power and is the reason that Inu Yasha has suffered so much. Kagome destroys this jewl and due to which its fragments have spread all over the demon world. Now demons are trying to find these fragments and reform the jewl and control its power. Naraku who is a strong demon, is the biggest threat to the world and has caused problems to many people including all the people that are important to the story. Basically Kagome and Inu Yasha set out to find the jewl and stop Naraku, on their journey they meet Shippo a fox demon, Miroku a cursed monk and Sango who is a demon slayer along with her brother Kohaku. By the end of the series you will know all of these people well. So it's all about how Inu Yasha changes in character because of his friends and vice versa and become a better person (or demon...) there's much, MUCH more to the story but you'll have to watch to find out.

The drawbacks start with the fact that it can be a bit cliche, also there are a few love triangles in the story which are a good aspect of the anime, but they can be a bit of a drag. Lastly, SOME of the episodes are too monotonous.

I give it a 9/10. overall a great anime- you can't get bored of it!

Maid Sama!

A great balance of comedy, action and love- three of those essences that can turn any anime into a great bombshell. I first saw Maid Sama on TV and thought it might be some random boring romantic series only for girls, but trust me it's much more! Its heart gripping episodes just make you want to watch more. In fact I think it may be the best romantic comedy out there.

The story line revolves around 'Misaki' who after a lot of hard work has become the student council president of her high school which has just turned into a co ed institution from a full boy school, so there are more boys than girls. But coming from a poor background Misaki has to work in a cafe called Maid Latte dressed up as a maid. If anyone were to find out about this it would be a source of never ending pain and teasing for her. But one day 'Usui' who is the most popular guy in the school finds out and develops an attraction towards her which leads to several problems later. So its all about how she starts depending on him and liking him while she used to think he was a useless, perverted and irritating person who entered her life just to cause problems. This transition takes place due to several events that take place during the series that are hard to miss!

Ill get to the drawbacks, firstly the fillers can be very boring, then the love circles formed can sometimes get dragged a bit too much, even though it happens very rarely.

I give it a 8 1/2, because it really is a great anime.

Black Jack

Doctor Black Jack is a good anime, it's something that would completely catch your interest and force you to keep watching. Every episode has a great story in itself and can even be a bit educating. You really cant get bored of it. Black Jack is probably the coolest and most awesome doctor to have ever been shown in an anime before. His attitude and techniques are what make this a great anime.

The story is obviously based on a doctor called black jack, who has lost his license due to certain reasons and therefore cannot legally work in a hospital anymore. So he works as an independent medical doctor who only accepts cases that are presented to him. Due to great skills he is highly recommended by most people, but unfortunately charges an obscenely large fee, so only the rich can afford to hire him. Along with the high fee, most people don't like his attitude and think he's a greedy and unkind miser while he is actually the opposite.
He has the capabilities to handle the most difficult and strange medical cases, and due to one such strange case he comes across Pinoko who is still a part of her sister- not like conjoint twins (you'll understand if you watch it) and he gives her a body, or rather creates it himself. The sister refuses to have anything to do with her and leaves her in the doctors care. Pinoko is one of the few who actually understand the doctor and actually starts to like him which is awkward because even though she's 18 years old, she had the body of a 10 year old. Anyways, watch the anime to witness the amazing miracles that the doctor can perform in the medical field that will leave you breathless.

the drawbacks of the anime are that it's based on the medical field, but looses grip of reality really often and shows us things are are not possible and sometimes senseless- even for an anime.

Overall I give the anime a 7 1/2, Quite decent.

God Save Our King!

A series almost forgotten by most people, God Save Our King is one of the best anime's you can see. Its breathtaking story line and twists and turns make it something worth watching. It has obviously not been given as much credit as it should have been given, but I'm here to try and change that. This anime is so addictive that at the end of all 117 episodes, you'll be craving for more. its one of those anime's that make you feel like crying at the end of it because you don't want it to end.

the story is rather intriguing. 'Yuri' was a normal high school boy who's main worries were studies and who thought magic was a joke, he believed this right until the day he was literally flushed down a toilet and ended up entering a world beyond that of his own, a world where humans and demons where constantly at war, a world where he was crowned demon king. It turns out Yuri was meant to become king and help him loyal and humble servants to attain peace for their world. He possesses great powers which he learns how to control as the series goes on, and he can move from one world to another by coming in contact with water. He may be a 'Demon king' but is kinder than most normal people. and here demons are not cliche monsters with horns but look like normal people with, some without any abilities. There are many main characters who play major roles in this series like Conrad his godfather, and his best friend who has a strange past and his own intentions, which may be good or bad, you'll have to watch to find out. will Yuri manage to bring peace into this world? will he manage to be a capable king? can he manage this duty? will he be the only demon king to unite the demons and humans? find out by watching the series, and trust me you wont stop.

The drawbacks are really small. those of you who are looking for a serious anime should turn away, this one is funny as hell, certain filler episodes can be a bit boring but they are very uncommon. basically i really cant find any good drawbacks for the series which is a really good thing.

I give the anime a 10/10. something I rarely do, so you know its great.
